Fun & Unique Wedding Ideas
Planning weddings can be pretty overwhelming, you want to make the day your own and you may have so many ideas you don’t know what to do to make the day fit you and your fiancée’s wants and needs. So this week I wanted to bring you a few fun and unique ideas to add to your wedding day.
Bottle Box Toss:
Tossing a bouquet is a lovely tradition at a wedding, but it can feel a little outdated and often not everyone wants to take part. So why not try a bottle box toss instead. How it works: you get a bottle of champagne or prosecco and a bottle of whiskey, or really any alcohol that might come packaged in a box.
Make sure you take the bottle out of the box, very important!
The marrying couple throws the boxes up in the air behind them, just like a bouquet, and your wedding guests jump to catch them. And you'd better believe they will!
Just a fun little spin on tradition, while getting everyone involved.
Signature Cocktails/Drinks:
This is a great one, as it can also be a fun activity for you and your fiancée to do before the wedding day.
Having a fun day at a cocktail making class or just being master cocktail makers at home.
You could name your signature cocktail after yourselves or give it a great pun, and then have it served at your wedding breakfast or bar for all your guests to enjoy.
I shot at a wedding at Hook Norton Brewery and the bride and groom made a beer, named it after themselves and put it on a tap on the bar. Loved it!
Jewellery for the bridal party or groomsmen:
A lovely sentimental one, getting jewellery for your bridal party not only thanks the friends and family involved in your wedding for being part of your big day, but gives them something to remember for years to come.
Little tokens to say I appreciate you will always be a win.
DIY
It's quite common these days for people to want to create a lot of the details in their wedding themselves, and it can be a beautiful touch.
Some examples might be: making your bouquets, creating personal place names, or crafting your own confetti.
Switching up the speeches:
Another one to break from tradition, you could have all the women in your bridal party speak instead of the men, or have a mixture of both.
It's an exciting day, no doubt everyone has something lovely they want to say about you.
Bring on the buffets:
Often there is food served later in the night after the wedding breakfast, and it's completely up to you what that is.
You could go for the popular hog roast, or maybe a favourite caterer of yours, it could even be a sweet buffet.
Whatever you choose is sure to go down a treat with your wedding guests.
