Georgina + Daniel | Derbyshire, UK
Georgina and Daniel met me for the first time in the Peak District on a summer weekend. I made them trek over the hills and got to know a bit about them. I learned about how they met, their guinea pigs and what they had planned for their special day.
They were both so open and friendly, and what struck me most is how excited they were to be married. I couldn’t wait for the day.
On the a drizzly August morning I got The Remarkable Hare pub and events space in Matlock, hoping the rain would stop in time for the wedding. Georgina and her friends were getting ready in a little apartment above the pub. Everyone was very excited and happy, and the bubbles were flowing.
The nerves were kicking in as Georgina put on her dress and veil, looking stunning and regal in the heart shaped mirror in the bedroom…a photo opportunity to good to miss.
At Derbyshire County Hall Daniel was greeting guests and busying himself with finding the people that belonged to the button-hole pins he had been carrying around for a while.
All the guest had arrived and were excitedly awaiting the bride’s arrival. Daniel waited at the front of the ceremony room and made jokes with friends and family, nervously tucking his shirt in and straightening his tie.
When the time came for Georgina to walk down the aisle, the room was calm and happy.
The sun finally came out as they tied the knot.
The rest of the day was filled with great little moments; from the Mr and Mrs game (which they were amazing at), to the games played by the guests. The groom’s friends’ wardrobe malfunctions were a highlight - burnt ties and missing socks…you know who you are!
It was a lovely little wedding with big emotion, giving me a lump in my throat several times at the obvious love Georgina and Daniel have for each other.
